Angelica Women's Chamber Choir
Pilgrimage: Sacred Journeys
The program features medieval pieces from collections in sacred places along pilgrimage routes, such as the Codex Calixtinus from the Cathedral of Santiago in Compostela. Also featured are contemporary works: Zebulon M. Highben’s "And Miriam Sang," a haunting celebration of Israel's deliverance from Egypt; Ēriks Ešenvalds’s “Stars,” a dreamlike journey to heaven, with special effects; and others. Joining Angelica are guest artists Rex Benincasa on percussion and psaltery and Tom Chess on oud and ney.
